Bio:
I graduated in 1997 from London Guildhall with a 2.1 in A/V production where I learnt to edit on SVHS suites with edit controllers with big jog/shuttle knobs! I spent the following year working as a technician/hire assistant in the A/V room at the University. Although I never lost my passion for film, it wasn’t until 2006 that I made a ‘comeback’, initially working on community video projects with young adults and then with a bit of luck moving on to editing two broadcast documentary series. Since then, I haven’t really looked back. I’ve worked as a Final Cut Pro editor for 5 years, as well as a videographer. I have filmed, edited and directed short films and documentaries and much more. Over the past 5 years I’ve embraced HD video technology and workflows and view myself as one of the new breed of all-rounders – able to both shoot and edit. Note: editing is still my main passion and area of expertise! Most recently I have worked as channel editor for Horse&Country TV (SKY 280) and shot and edited a half hour documentary for the Co-operative’s Toxic Fuels campaign. This is a taster video for a longer documentary commissioned by the Marfan Association UK exploring the quest to solve the genetic riddle that is Marfan’s Syndrome.
I am an Apple Certified Final Cut Pro Editor with broadcast and corporate credits with experience in both short and long form projects. I am available as an offline/online editor. I can also cut with Avid Media Composer. I have worked with a range of VTRs (both Digibeta and HD) and hardware capture cards (Black Magic/AJA) as well as tapeless formats. I’m available with my own kit which at present is a 17″ Macbook Pro, Final Cut Studio 3 and disk storage. I am a member of BECTU (grade – editor). The concept is simple – to get my clients from A to B with passion and commitment – from initial concept to final delivery. I’m available as a self-shooting Director/Producer and have experience using a range of Sony cameras – Z1, XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX. My speciality is documentary filming and editing, as you can see on my showreel, but I can happily work across a range of genres. As a filmmaker and editor, I focus on developing good relationships and understanding with clients, whether we’re working together for days or weeks. No matter how small or big your project is, I’ll always give my absolute best. Communication and creativity are the cornerstones of A2B!!
