Shooting interview at the Barbican. Shooting with Canon5D Mark II

I graduated in 1997 with a 2.1 in A/V production and spent the following year working as an office monkey/hire assistant in the A/V room at the University. Although I never lost my passion for film, it wasn’t until 2006 that I made a ‘comeback’, initially working on community video projects and then through a mixture of luck and fate, editing two entire broadcast documentary series. Since then, I haven’t really looked back. I’ve worked freelance as a Final Cut Pro editor and more recently as a self-shooting director. I have filmed, edited and directed short films and documentaries and much more. Over the past 4 years I’ve embraced HD video technology and workflows and view myself as one of the new breed of all-rounders – both shooting and editing – with a bit of motion graphics thrown in for luck! My recent work includes a documentary short which was shortlisted in the 2010 BECTU short film competition and a half hour documentary for the Co-operative’s Toxic Fuels campaign.
The concept is simple – to get my clients from A to B with passion and commitment – from initial concept to final delivery. I’m available as a self-shooting Director/Producer and have experience using a range of Sony cameras – Z1, XDCAM HD and XDCAM EX. Most recently I have started to shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II HDSLR and the image quality is beautiful. For more detailed information and full credit list, view my downloadable CV.
I am an Apple Certified Final Cut Pro Editor with broadcast and corporate credits with experience in both short and long form projects. I am available as an offline/online Final Cut Pro editor, and/or motion graphics design – see demo reel, as well as DVD authoring and encoding projects. I’m available with my own kit which at present is a 17″ Macbook Pro, Final Cut Studio 3 and disk storage. I am a member of BECTU (grade – editor). Please look at the Editing/Motion Graphics Design/Camera sections on the site.
Highlights reel of work I have either edited, shot or directed or a combination of all three!
My speciality is documentary filming and editing, as you can see on my showreel, but I can happily work across a range of genres. I also have a proven track record in Motorsport filming and editing – even though I’m not a petrolhead!! As an a filmamker and editor, I focus on developing good relationships and understanding with clients, whether we’re working together for days or weeks. No matter how small or big your project is, I’ll always give my absolute best. Communication and creativity are the cornerstones of A2B. Add to that competitive rates – and you’ve just found the right man for your next production!
In the showreel section you can see examples of my work. Call anytime if you’d like to know more.
