This month I’m working as Edit Assistant (Archive) for the documentary film-maker John Burgan who has been commissioned by Europe’ s leading eco-centre CAT to produce a film tracing the history of energy in Wales and its future – renewable energy. We visited the National Library of Wales Screen Archive to collect DVCAM copies of archive footage, much of it silent film like ‘Mining Reviews’ for the offline edit. I’ll be logging and capturing this into a Final Cut system at the Department of Theatre, Film and Television Studies at Aberystwyth University. Later on, I’ll recapture from the digibeta originals for the online edit, once John has decided which bits he wants to use!
