I went to the huge headquarters of Tinopolis in Llanelli today to capture archive footage at hi-res for the CAT documentary, provisionally entitled ‘Power and Place’. I’m very jealous of the editors here – they have mini-fridges in their edit suites! I media managed John’s FCP project and recaptured the digibeta tapes as 8bit uncompressed PAL. The VTRs are remotely connected in the machine room – so I did a lot of to -ing and fro -ing between suite and machine room feeding tapes in. Apart from a few timecode mismatches everything went smoothly. John (Burgan) can now get on with the edit which is being given a premiere at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC on an HD projector.
