Last week I was selected as a finalist in the 2010 BECTU Short Film Competition for the Real Cinema Paradiso. Four films were chosen out of 45 entries. I went along to the BECTU Freelancers Fair at Savoy Place in London on the 11 June for the judging, screening, Q&A session and Ethical Film-making debate which was part of the session. The panellists were Simon Berthon, James Hawes, Peter Nicholson, Tim Sullivan and Marc Sigsworth. I got pipped by another film in the final judging, but the whole event was very enjoyable.
